How to See Deleted WhatsApp Messages on Android Phone

WhatsApp officially does not provide a tool to retrieve a deleted chat or messages. On WhatsApp, however, there are two ways to read deleted messages.
Most of the time there is a lot of regret for our actions, especially when it comes to deleting a WhatsApp message or chat when it was important for us to save it. WhatsApp offers the ability to delete certain messages from a chat or from the chat itself, as well as a solution to recover them. As soon as all of the users delete a chat by themselves, at least the chat will remain in the receiver’s side, where you can request a copy of it. If you have both deleted the chat, as well as worse, did you use deletion options like Delete for All for the message?

The fact that WhatsApp imposes certain restrictions on its features is something that even some third-party applications cannot circumvent.

A third-party application is installed in the first method, but the second is just a very easy way to work where everything will be in the right place. Please note that WhatsApp is not recommending that you install third-party applications as well as permitting them to use your data, so it is recommended that you read the third-party application’s privacy policy before installing it.

Method – 1: It is reported by the Spanish blog Android Jefe that WhatsApp notifications always record in the phone’s memory for both individual messages and chat messages, unless a particular contact or group chat has been silenced. The log will be stored in the memory until you restart the device, so that you can read and retrieve deleted messages. Messages can be read by the recipient after both sender and recipient have deleted them. You should note that this is not some kind of exploit, this is only a solution that provides that you will give some access to a third party application which will only run on Android devices. There you go:

  • Step 1 – On the Google Play Store, you can download the application called Notification History. Now start the application as well as give all the necessary permissions for your device.
  • Step 2 – Now you can browse the entire log to find the deleted WhatsApp messages you wanted to read. However, there is one caveat: Notification of grouped messages can be difficult to group into individual messages. In addition, you will need to browse all of the log and find the messages.

In addition to the above application, it is possible to download application launchers like Nova Launcher, who will record the notifications received on an Android phone. Some Android phones offer this built-in feature.

Method – 2: It is simpler than the 1st method. All exchanged messages are saved in the phone’s local memory and in the cloud – either Google Drive or iCloud. For reading deleted messages, simply restore the backup stored in them. However, this only applies to its sender – you can only follow this method if the message was not deleted from the sender’s side.

WhatsApp usually backs up messages in the every evening or morning, so messages exchanged between these hours must be backed up manually. If you want to restore chat, First uninstall WhatsApp and then re-install the WhatsApp from the same mobile phone number. When reinstalling, choose to restore the backup. Do you know what happens if we tell you that you can do this work without uninstalling WhatsApp?

A number of Android smartphones have the option to create double instances of applications. By duplicating WhatsApp from the respective device settings, you can duplicate WhatsApp. All you need to do now is sign up for WhatsApp from the same mobile phone number with the same email account, be sure to restore your backup to retrieve your messages.

There is nothing more to say. Using the methods described above, you can recover deleted messages on WhatsApp. No method guarantees the same thing, however, because there are some limitations on how to do so, such as not backing up or cleaning up the notification history on your device.
