Oprah Winfrey was born on January 29, 1954. Her full name is Oprah Gail Winfrey. She is an American talk show host, TV Actress, producer and philanthropist. She popularly known for her talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show broadcast from Chicago. It was then highest rated television program which runs for 25 years from 1986 to 2011. She is one of the richest African American and first black multi-billionaire. She was also one of the most influential woman in the world. In 2011, She launched her own TV Network called Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). She was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi and in 1976 she moved to Baltimore where she joined Chicago TV station and started hosting her own morning show.

She was born in Mississippi where she was sexually abused by many person like her relatives, her mother’s friends and that’s why she moved to Nashville to live with her father who was a barber and a businessman. Whose name was Vernon Winfrey. In 1971 she enrolled in Tennessee State University with the help of a scholarship after winning the oratory contest. She was a bright student and made her study as priority that’s why she was one of the most popular girl in the school at East Nashville High School.
In 1976 she joined Richard Sher as co-host of WJZ’s local talk show People Are Talking and the host become one of the most high and she stayed with that host for next eight years and after that she recruited in Chicago TV station to host the morning show A.M. Chicago. In 1986 she launched a national syndicated program “The Winfrey Show” and that run for next 25 years till 2011 and that show had audience of 10 million people which earned around $125 million in it’s first year and she received $30 million in the first year. In 1994 when there were many shows came like that and that theme become absorbent but Winfrey took a pledged at the same time that her show would not be add any compendious topic although initially the ratings fell down but soon she got good ratings by her audience and again her popularity increased. In 2004 when she signed a new contract to continue The Oprah Winfrey Show for the season 2010-11 at that time the show was seen nearly 212 U.S. stations with 100 countries worldwide. In 2009 she announced that she is going to end her contract with ABC in 2011.
After end-up her contract she started a Book Club with name “Oprah’s Book Club,”. In this book club there were many unknown authors joined and wrote and that become the bestseller list. In 2018 she interviewed the First Lady Michelle Obama at the time of release of Michelle’s memoir named Becoming. During the final season of talk show, She revealed a secret that she has a half-sister named Patricia. Her mother gave birth in 1963 when she was 9 year old and living with her father. Her half sister lived in a foster homes until she was seven year old. She also told in the show that she only get to know about her sister few days ago and then she wanted to make it publicize the knowledge and she said on her show that “It was one of the greatest surprises of my life,”.
