Palaniappan Chidambaram (born 16 September 1945)[1] : He is an Indian politician and former lawyer. Currently he is also serving as a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha[2] and formerly served as the Union Minister of Finance of India.
He was the Finance Minister starting in May 2004 through 2014 in UPA government. When Pranab Mukherjee become Prisident of India then Chidambaram become a Finance Minister and succeed Pranab Mukherjee in July 2012.
